Pastor Wayne DeVrou

Wayne and Amy DeVrou

Born and raised in West Michigan, I split my childhood between home and “Up North”, which was a family homestead in Leelanau County, where we spent weekends, Summer, and deer seasons.  If my parents were to put into words some kind of motto, it would have been, “God, Country, Family and the Outdoors.” My parents passed down a love for the outdoor life experience. Dad owned a sporting goods store and we were its best customer. There are some people that adorn their walls with trophies; mine are adorned with pictures of family experiencing the wonders of God’s creation - pictures with my grandfather, father, and my own wife, children and friends.  A love for outdoor sport runs in our family blood and we make new memories year around at home near Lake Michigan in our Wisconsin woods.

I have served the Lord in His church for over 35 years, in Michigan, South Dakota, Iowa and (Wisconsin since 2004). It has been my joy to introduce hundreds of people to the joy of the outdoors, which is a perfect medium to introduce people to their creator, and get to know him more. God’s word and God’s world mix well, and teach us a lot about who God is. While, I graduated from Reformed Bible College, in Grand Rapids Michigan, and Western Theological Seminary in Holland, I learned to tell a story at a campfire.

I enjoy doing seminars on various topics, such as: Getting a Grip on Your Anger, Marriage, Prayer, and Parenting and the spiritual disciplines. While I enjoy the opportunities, ministry has afforded me, my primary work and love is preaching God’s Word. I am married to Amy, have two sons, two daughters, two sons in law, a daughter in law, and 8 grandchildren (so far!).
